Our local outreach ministries are rooted in compassion and a deep desire to serve our neighbors with love and dignity. We believe that meaningful change begins right here in our own community—through shared meals, warm clothing, thoughtful collections, and hands-on service. Whether it's preparing food for those experiencing homelessness, collecting books for children, or participating in seasonal drives, each act of kindness reflects our mission to be the hands and feet of Jesus.
Through partnerships with local organizations and the dedication of our volunteers, we strive to meet real needs, build lasting relationships, and bring hope to those around us. Together, we’re creating a stronger, more connected community—one act of service at a time.
COMMUNITY SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES
Blood Drives - Register online
We regularly host blood drives at both campuses in partnership with the American Red Cross. These events provide a vital lifeline for patients in need and offer our congregation a simple yet powerful way to save lives.
Community Crisis Center - website
On the 4th Sunday of every month, we prepare and deliver meals to the Community Crisis Center, offering nourishment and care to individuals and families facing domestic violence, homelessness, or financial hardship.
CROP Walk - website
This annual community-wide walk raises funds to combat hunger both locally and globally. By participating, we join with others to support sustainable food programs and emergency relief efforts around the world.
PADS of Elgin - website
Every 1st Sunday, we serve meals to residents at the PADS shelter in Elgin. This ministry provides not only food but also a sense of dignity and community to those experiencing homelessness.
Soup Kettle - website
Several times a month, our volunteers serve warm, home-cooked meals at Zion Lutheran Church and Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. This outreach ensures that anyone in need can enjoy a hot meal in a welcoming environment.
